"Apple should lead the way and come out against bandwidth caps. Given that many of the offerings on the iTunes store actually compete with cable TV, Apple should be vigilant that cable companies do not use bandwidth metering as a way to stifle alternative ways of viewing content. Additionally, Apple should add a bandwidth meter to the Airport routers; that way the bandwidth use of entire households can be tracked. Pulling my hair out.” And a few minutes later, this response from Peter-Paul Koch (a web developer from Amsterdam): @ppk: “@jeresig When this happens the IE8 engine has crashed, and IE automatically switches to IE7 mode.” … if that’s true Internet Explorer 8 promises to be even more exciting than its predecessors. I’m thinking about writing a Grease Monkey-ish IE-based addon that works sort of like StumbleUpon, where the sites you’re viewing just randomly have compatibility modes turned on & off (as well as other features you might expect from your browser).
