jQuery: Opacity and Rollovers
[Updated on 08/13/09]
Here’s an interesting way to ‘save’ art & have jQuery manipulate images for rollovers.
… the gist of this technique is to use one piece of art for a button & use jQuery to manipulate opacity for each state. For example on the demo page above, 30% opacity is used when a button is disabled; 70 & 100% apply to the off & hover states, respectively. This also saves a lot of time, when you’re creating a ton of these; like all those social bookmarking icons you see everywhere.

Hastymail is a full featured IMAP/SMTP client written in PHP. Development of the software began in 2002, and while actively worked on for several years, over the last few the project has been seriously neglected. January 2008 marks the rebirth of the Hastymail project. Our goal is the same, a full featured yet lightweight webmail client. We are reviewing and improving all aspects of the original Hastymail project code, updating and adding new features and better usability, and making it possible to expand the application to incorporate add-ons and easier site integration. We are excited about the new developments!

Dodd, who was visiting constituents in Enfield, Connecticut, said he was disappointed that the Treasury officials who asked him to make the legislative changes had not identified themselves. People are "incensed" about the "infuriating" bonuses to officials at AIG and elsewhere, Dodd said, and "I don't blame them." Dodd told CNN on Wednesday that he was responsible for language added to the stimulus bill to make sure that already-existing contracts for bonuses at companies receiving federal bailout money were honored. A Treasury Department official told CNN earlier that the Obama administration had pushed for the language.
